The 4th of July 'Ward Breakfast' 2009!

Saturday morning was the ward annual '4Th of July Breakfast'. The Bishopric did a great job at making pancakes and sausage for us this year...it was yummy!

The kids quickly ate, so that they could get outside to ride their bikes.

Brother Anthon handed out balloons to the kids.

Brother Aitken helped the boys get ready for the flag ceremony.

The ward then gathered to say, "The Pledge of Allegiance."

Then the kids got their bikes to start the parade. It was pretty hot for a parade, so it didn't last as long as usual, just a few laps around the parking lot.

Austin decorated his bike for the occasion.

It was a fun, but hot morning to hang out with friends, Marie and Jennifer.

After the breakfast we went to Lowe's to get a new dryer, and then we took Michael and Austin to the Anthons to swim in their pool for a bit. Later that evening, at 6pm we went over to the Corringtons for a 4Th of July picnic with some other families in the ward. We had BBQ chicken, fruit, beans, salsa, and dessert...everything was great!

I made a yummy 4Th of July cake to celebrate red, white, and blue. I made it with angel food cake, homemade strawberry jam (made that afternoon....strawberries were on sale for 99 cents) homemade whip cream, strawberries and blueberries....it turned out really good...watch out food network!!

Jennifer made a 4Th of July cake with some sparklers on top!

After the BBQ most of the families went to watch some fireworks, at a church nearby, but we came home home so that Chuck and Austin could do a few fireworks before bedtime! I know that was Austin's favorite part of the day!

Another year to celebrate this great country that we live in!
