Oh my goodness...I can't believe that we finally got rid of the white (now gray) carpet and have these beautiful wood floors! The downstairs doesn't even look the same, it looks a lot bigger now. Here is a picture of the living room.

When the men came to take measurements for the floors, Chuck and I decided to get wood in the bedroom too! It looks awesome!
When the crew was done with the 3 rooms, there was some extra boards left over, so Chuck & I went through all the scraps and had just enough (really....by a few boards) to install our closet ourselves. Here is the photo of my 80's handyman! The crew took 3 days to do the living room, piano room, and bedroom...it took Chuck and I 4 days just to install the closet! That was when Chuck and I realized it was worth every penny to have the crew do the work in all the other rooms!
The floors looked so great, so we also had the stairs re-carpeted too! We had it re-done in the same color as before, to match the upstairs. We also changed out the ugly light fixture in the piano room and the small light fixture over the stairs. And since we got new floors in the bedroom, we finally repainted our bedroom too! But, I will have to say that after 25 years of marriage, we finally bought matching nightstands, they even match our 25 year old water bed! The nightstands were such a great deal,that we also bought the matching dressers. We ended up putting the dressers in the living room. The next step is to take the large armoire out of the living room and moved it to the piano room. So that means Chuck's next project is to mount the TV above the fireplace!
